Ground Fresh to Order
Mazateca Mujeres is a unique women-produced community microlot from Oaxaca, Mexico; bringing together small highly-scoring family harvests into one amazing spotlight. This coffee is delightful all around; from its’ apple cider-like aroma to its spicy, velvety aftertaste.
If you’re looking for a coffee that strikes a balance between comforting and subtly complex, this Mexican coffee delivers. The dry fragrance brings out nostalgic notes of Tootsie Roll with a hint of warm spices, while the wet aroma opens up into warm spiced apple cider.
In the cup, it’s clean with a velvety body that feels smooth and satisfying without being heavy. As it cools, deeper chocolate notes come forward; especially on finer grinds like an Aeropress or espresso. Layered with touches of cherry, chocolate-covered pomegranate, and a soft apple-like acidity that keeps everything bright and balanced at a perfect medium roast.

Roast Level: Medium
Mazateca Mujeres is a community microlot from the Sierra Mazateca of Oaxaca, produced in partnership with Osito Coffee. This region is known for vibrant, high-quality coffees grown by smallholder families; where women play a vital but often unrecognized role in both farm labor and decision-making.
By collecting smaller, standout lots and focusing specifically on coffees delivered under the names of female producers, this project brings deserved visibility to their work. The result is a carefully crafted lot that not only delivers an exceptional cup, but also highlights the women behind it.
Processing: Washed
Growing Region: Sierra Mazateca, Oaxaca 1500-1800 MASL
Excellent for: V60, drip, fruitier espresso, iced coffee
Brewing Tips: We enjoyed the most complexity on a Hario V60, while a finer grind on the Aeropress or drip brings out more chocolates and thicker body. Espresso highlighted fruity notes like apple and cherry, and is refreshing over ice!
