A coffee with all of the qualities of a specialty cup - a sweet floral aroma, brown sugar and wine-like tasting notes with bright and crisp acidity - all in delicious harmony. A single-estate farm, Hacienda Rio Negro is the first farm in Costa Rica to be Rainforest Alliance certified.
Meticulously grown and processed all on the same farm in the Coto Brus region of Costa Rica, you can taste the care that goes into this incredible coffee. The farm employs and houses full-time staff and even has its own medical clinic and daycare. We are proud to support the environmentally conscious efforts of this farm and share their coffee with you.
We took this coffee to the lighter side of a medium roast in order to bring out maximum sweetness and complexity while keeping a velvety body. Grinding just before brewing releases fragrances that are softly floral with a hint of melon. Tasting notes of red grape, pie crust, and brown sugar with a crisp acidity that melts into notes of milk chocolate. It is amazing iced too!
